We design products accessible to everyone

Inclusive and accessible design - from prototype to implementation

Why it's important
1 in 8 users may not use your product. Not by choice - by barriers.

Accessibility is not a bonus. It's a foundation. Designing without consideration for people with disabilities means less outreach, fewer customers, and often, lack of legal compliance.

Tenka is a design studio that thinks about inclusivity from the first dash. We help companies implement design that is ready for the real needs of users.

We help companies and institutions implement solutions that will benefit everyone, without barriers

Why work with us?
image

"At Tence, they didn't just design a product. They asked: who doesn't reach the button - and why? With their approach, we took it a step further by studying the needs of users in wheelchairs, the elderly and parents with children. The result? A product that anyone can use - and we saw a marked increase in the number of users. Thanks to their design, we were able to launch a tender and win."

FAQ
  • 1.
    What is inclusive design?
It's a design approach that takes into account the diversity of users. Regardless of age, fitness, height, experience, culture or conditions of use. It's about creating products that are, by design, accessible and understandable to the widest possible range of people.
  • 2.
What are the accessibility standards for the products?
For physical products, among others, the following apply:

    - ISO 21542 - accessibility of the built environment (e.g. heights, maneuvering spaces).
    - EN 17210 - European standard for universal design.
    - National regulations, e.g., building codes, PKN standards, bidding regulations.
    - In the digital sphere: WCAG 2.2, if the product has electronic components (e.g., screen, panel).
  • 3.
Does inclusive design mean higher costs?
Not always. E.g., if you consider inclusivity from the beginning (in the concept or prototype phase), the cost varies marginally. Unfortunately, what costs the most is ignored - that is, later revisions, complaints, fines, penalties or lost customers. Inclusive design often reduces support costs, increases conversion and improves user experience.
  • 4.
What industries are most likely to need such solutions?
The most susceptible industries are: - Medtech and healthcare (devices, furniture, care accessories) - Retail and FMCG (packaging, displays, vending machines) - Children's and family products (car seats, furniture, accessories for parents) - Public and commercial spaces (infrastructure, racks, toilets, ramps) - Home appliances and electronics (user interfaces, dials, screens, one-handed operation) In general: any industry that creates products used in a variety of conditions by a variety of people.

Inclusive Product Design
by TENKA

Good design leaves no one behind.

Tenka is an industrial design studio that has been creating implementation-ready products for years, from strategy to technical documentation. We believe that everyone should be able to use them without barriers.

For us, inclusivity is a decision, a strategy, a functionality.

We ask, we test, we design with all users in mind - including those who are often overlooked.
